Question: How come when I edit my "Interest" the color doesnt change and it links to myspace search?

Answer: It's not your layout, Myspace has made it so all the text added inside your "Interest" table links to myspace search by default. For example if you type in "Hip Hop" under the "Music" category myspace automatically links and sets it to search "Hip Hop". To disable clickable links in Interests / Music / Movies / Television / Books / Heroes, put a <Z> anywhere in the box and save your changes.
